For me, the Summit, and the cobalt Phil Caduc, have been the most elusive of the '60s-'70s Sac sodas to find. You dig 50 Billings, 30 aqua Phils, and a couple dozen Blue Owens for every one of those bottles.
Has anyone ever dug the Summit Hotel? It wasn't me, that's for sure.
I guess I have been fortunate then, during my tenure in Sacto, having dug a few Summits and a few cobalt Caducs. I didnt know though that the Summit was associated with that Hotel up there. That's cool to know. Thanks for posting the ad. AP
Billings don't count, most go back for future generations of bottle diggers to find. Phils are OK, if crude and/or a different shade of aqua. Remember back in the day when we didn't think much of Summits, either. The hardest to find of the Caduc series is the short lived, but slightly more recent, Louis Leloy/Napa Soda.
A SMOKING green Renz was released from it's earthen resting place this afternoon. Photos and "info" to be posted later, after the digfest is completed.
