  6. I remember Toynton's book, someone gave me their old falling-apart copy kind of like a stack of paper! The Hall's from Palo Alto most certainly exists he was in business in the 1890s. Listed in the 1895 Palo Alto City Directory.
CONNEAU, Mrs. A., widow, res. over Hall's Drug Store, b. 4.
CONNEAU, Myrtle, student High School, res. over Hall's Drug Store, b. 4.
HALL, Benj. F., druggist, res. University Avenue and High Street, b. 4.
HALL, M.D., drug clerk, res. University Avenue and High Street, b. 4.
    Bottle embossed:
Hall's/Palo Alto Pharmacy (cursive script)/Palo Alto, Cal.
No rating given in Miller's book likely around 10-15 examples known.

  7. None of those below are listed in Miller's book, however his last revision was in 2005. Interesting there are two "B.F. Hall"s listed in Modesto/San Mateo. Wouldn't be much of a stretch to think the same Hall relocated a couple of times. For example druggist W.B. Pixley started in Stockton, later moving to S.F. and Oakland. Embossed bottles for all three of Pixley's locations exist.

HALL, Mrs. Addie S., 135 University ave
HALL, Dr. Geo. E., 133 University ave
HALL, Ward Hall, student, 133 University ave
Hall's Drug Store, 135 University ave
