Oldest Bottle Club In the U.S. ?????????

EBSCA was only founded in 1965.

http://www.fohbc.org/2015/11/the-oldest-bottle-club-in-the-united-states/

How about the San Jose Club, founded 1958, Reno Club, founded 1963, Las Vegas club founded 1965, San Diego Club, founded 1965, Golden Gate Club, founded 1965 (or earlier) ?

It would be great if some of the forefathers could chime in and set the record straight. The rumor going around is that the San Jose Club was disqualified because it was deactivated for a number of years.

  1. Didn't the original Sac club dissolve and a new club created when the FOHBC was created ?

  2. The Golden Gate Club is having its 50th consecutive show this spring. Not sure when the club was formed but I believe it was more than 50 years ago. Maybe someone from the club would know when it was founded......

  5. The Reno Club was founded, formed in April of 1963, they celebrated 50 years back in 2013. They are saying the Sac club
was the oldest but that doesnt count since they disbanded for a few years before forming the FOHBC. I think Mr. Bender
was quik to the Pen, there maybe other clubs with over 50 years, Reno is working on 53.

  6. OK, so Reno had it's 50th show in 2013 which means 2015 was it's 52nd show. That alone is older than the New York Club. What year was the Reno club founded ?

  7. Looks like Marty Hall has posted a response to the Oldest Existing U.S. Antique Bottle Club story appearing on the FOHBC website. The Reno Antique Bottle Club was founded in April 1963 and has been in continuous operation since. Hopefully a correction will be made to this story.

  9. Hi Marty.
That is great news really. I have an article written for the magazine. Ferd is holding it so I can rewrite it to include up dated and more information. I have no issue changing the way it is written but I will need some help from your club. Old and newer photos would be great help. I want history to be correct. I will change the article to reflect the three clubs that have made it 50 years or more. Any history you can send me will help greatly. I sold Ann Karo a USA Hosp. bottle back in the 80's does she still collect? Ferd sent you what was on the net and I will address the magazine article starting with what happened when it hit the net. I will be waiting to hear from you. Thanks again

    Jim
