Auction 63 from American Bottle Auctions has some of the most incredible western bottles seen at auction in quite a while. There are offerings from most all category's of western blown bottles and it is well worth your time to take a look. - rs -

  1. This auction has some amazing glass available! For what it is worth, I think that almost three weeks is way too long for an online auction though. With such a long timeframe, bidding early makes no sense and there will likely be a flurry of bids towards the end. I suppose the extended auction is good for collectors to apply for their home equity loans or donate more blood plasma but other than that, it is too long in my opinion.

  2. One can't help question the timing as well. GWA is running an equally powerful venue, albeit primarily with an eastern focus. Plus, there's the Pole Top auction that just closed. One can't help but wonder, just how many dispensable dollars are floating around these days?

Does competition help or hinder the hammer price?

  3. Not all people have deep pockets and remember patience is a virtue and rewards great!

  4. I hear you Don, but does a three week auction make pockets deeper? Guess I have no virtue.

    1. No Dale three weeks give common folks more time to collect money as you stated. I feel your frustration should be directed towards auctioneer. I will put you in my prayers for patience. This was not directed towards you or anyone in particular, good luck.
