The fact that one, possibly two, others were found in Nor Cal gives it a little more credence that it could be Western? I'm of course hoping so, but whatever the case, it's an awesome bottle for being a slicker!

I'm feeling mid 1870s out of it--nothing solid to back it, just a hunch. In person, the color is very reminiscent of the sapphire Bay City Sodas and sapphire EC&M insulators of that mid 70's period. Throw some embossing with curved R’s on that baby and it could easily sit on the shelf amongst the Cassin’s, Lacour’s & Wonser’s! Yeah, I know, he’s dreamin’ now…

Warren, give me some clues as to what to look for under a loop?IXLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14693918799907531116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6842291092692051858.post-83630621282842011702011-01-21T07:27:47.291-08:002011-01-21T07:27:47.291-08:00A friend blew up what would have been a wild foamy...A friend blew up what would have been a wild foamy yellow Cassin's while putting in a septic tank a couple years ago. Backhoes are "bottle killers", especially when you have no idea they are down there. No really, could it have been a labeled Cassin's Bitters before or after the embossed corset-waisted bottles were produced???

Broken Cassin's have been found in Sac and Benicia. Still, it will take more examples turning up to make a western connection. Better yet, a label.Mike Dolcinihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08100009168892063834noreply@blogger.com
