Perhaps it's an earl...Interesting bottle, Dale!<br />Perhaps it's an early western blown "Patent" Fifth....or perhaps some of the star base cylinders are not western blown like many of us assume!?!? Are those embossed letters around the inside edge of the bottom, or just the 8-Ray star? I can't quite tell from the photo.<br /><br />On a similar note, I have a black glass ale with a 6-Ray star on the base that looks very similar to some of the PGW & SFPGW star bases... It also has a few embossed letters/initials around the bottom....I believe, "CMW" or "GMW" from what I recall. I'll post a pic of it in the next few days.J.F.
